Rita Dominic a veteran Nollywood actress has disclosed the reason behind the long wait before getting married.

Rita Fidelis formally known as Rita Dominic who hail from Mbaise in Imo state got married to her husband, Fidelis Anosike at 46 years old in November 2002.

In an exclusive interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, she revealed why she waited for years before getting married.

Rita Dominic disclosed she has been friend with her husband for a long time before they found love and eventually got married.

On why she waited for so long, she disclosed that she wanted to be sure she was marrying for the right reasons and not pressure from society.

Rita Dominic said,

“I wanted to be sure I was marrying for the right reasons and not from societal pressure.”

“The pressure was so much but I turned deaf ear, I did it when I wanted to do it and I believe I did it at the right time and with the right person”

Opening up on why it took her such a long time, she said,

“I meet quite a number of people but maybe it didn’t just work out and I don’t believe in forcing things.”

When asked about the advice to give to anybody after 2years of marriage, Rita Dominic stated,

“Marry your friend, make sure your goals and dreams align.”
